The 2022 Range Rover is Now Available and More Luxurious Than Ever

It’s a huge deal to launch an all-new Range Rover. In the 50-year history of Range Rover, there had been only four, which is far less than the five-generation model you see here.

The new Range Rover will be available in the early-2030s and has a hybrid drivetrain that can deliver up to 62 miles on a single charge. Jaguar Land Rover has announced that the first all-electric Range Rover is coming in 2024. The new platform was designed to house the battery pack.

The 2022 Range Rover now offers a seven-seat option. This adds 200mm to the wheelbase, and places two adult-sized seats behind the second row. You can also choose from a five-seat traditional layout or a four-seat SV option. This option features airline-style reclining seats that Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations division provides for rear passengers.

You can add the Event Suite box to your order form. There are also more seats on the split folding tailgate. The trunk can hold 350kg. There are a few integrated seats with backrests, and glasses holders, for watching Range Rover drivers do other things. The car’s sound system can also be controlled via a smartphone app. This app can also be used for preheating the cabin or extracting the vehicle from a narrow space.

Two hybrid options will be available from the start of production. The P440e is a 3.0-liter straight-six turbocharged gasoline engine with a 38.2kWh lithium battery pack. It drives a 140-horsepower electrical motor, bringing the total output to 424hp. The P510e is the second, and it has the 3.0-liter engine. However, the P510e has more power and uses the same electrical system. It produces a total output 496hp (516 lb ft) and 700Nm (700 nm). The flagships can both be charged up to 50kW. This means that an 80 percent charge can be done in less than an hour.

The flagship model of the range is powered by a 4.4-liter V8 engine that produces 516 horsepower and 750Nm (553lb ft) of torque. It can also accelerate to 0-62mph in just 4.6 seconds. Maximum speed is limited at 155 mph.

The Range Rover’s new design will be as impressive as its drivetrain options. It is the most talked about asset. And it is stunning. Although the new car looks very similar to its predecessor it has a more refined and concept-car-like aesthetic. This is the right way to go for a manufacturer looking to push its flagship car higher up the market.

Trendsetting Land Rover had to take a step up as brands such as Bentley, Lamborghini and Rolls-Royce enter the SUV market at much higher prices. The new model starts at PS94,400 in UK, and goes up to PS130,000 once the SV options are fully explored.

The rear light cluster was the most talked about detail before the reveal. For those not familiar with the area, it is the place where most of the changes have occurred. The new Range Rover’s rear lights, which are completely black when they are not illuminated, is a move that will undoubtedly be copied by others over the years. This is a nod to the Jaguar I-Pace’s ‘hidden-until-lit” interior infotainment system and climate controls. It results in an exterior finish that’s reserved for concept cars.

The design is clean and crisp, which makes it look more futuristic every time you look at. Even the launch color Sunset Gold is striking in its modernity, and it also looks a lot better than it sounds.

A few weeks back, I was able to see the new Range Rover next to its predecessor. The new details are only then brought to sharp focus and the outgoing model suddenly appears the same as the one that was revealed. It’s wallet-opening design at its best, even before you know that the aluminum body structure has been completely redesigned.

The cabin inside is extremely luxurious. Drivers of JLR products will recognize the dashboard. It features the most recent Pivi Pro infotainment software, which runs on a bright and crisp 13.7-inch touchscreen display. It’s one of the best systems available today. The climate controls are thankfully still physical and not controlled via the touchscreen.

We are confident that the cabin will be quiet even though no one from outside JLR has yet driven the car. This is due to noise-cancelling technology similar to high-end headphones. Each wheel arch has four microphones that record the tire roar and road noise. The computer creates the opposite sound and emits it through the soundsystem, which has four speakers in each of the headrests. This works in the same way as headphones to cancel out unwanted sounds and create artificial silence.

Those who desire more luxury will find an SV version of both wheelbases available from launch. The SV’s four-seat SV offers rear passengers the option of a centrally mounted table that can be folded out and swivels to suit either occupant. A drinks fridge is also located between the seats. It is smaller and faster than the previous model, so it takes up less trunk space. The SV model has a larger seat-back display, which is now 11.4 inches.

SV cars have cool-to-the touch ceramic controls, exterior badging and deep-pile mohair flooring. Ultrafabrics also offers luxury non-leather materials. These are much more comfortable than traditional leather, and I have felt them for myself.

The SV model also features 23-inch wheels. Land Rover calls it a ‘duotone interior’, which means that the front and back seats are finished with different materials and colors. This further emphasizes the preference to drive an SV rather than driving it.

The new Range Rover is as capable off-road as you’d expect from Land Rover products, even though many may never leave the city. The vehicle can reach a Defender-equivalent depth of 900mm. Terrain Response functions ensure that the car’s four wheel-drive system is properly configured wherever it goes.

Land Rover isn’t changing the rules for SUVs. It doesn’t have to. The previous model was so well received that it didn’t even need to. The 2022 Range Rover is an example of carefully considered refinement.

It simplifies the design and also takes the Range Rover name up one gear to show Aston Martin Bentley Rolls-Royce Land Rover is still the best when it comes making luxury SUVs.

Next year, we’ll be able to test the new Range Rover and see if Land Rover succeeded in this mission.
