TP-Link Increases Business Networking with New Omada Wi Fi 6 Access Points

TP-Link works hard to be a global leader in business and consumer networking products. Today, TP-Link announces the expansion of Omada Business Networking’s product line. It now offers two Wi-Fi 6 access point options that are extremely feature-rich and competitively priced.

The Omada EAP610-Outdoor, TP-Link’s first-ever AX1800 Wi-Fi 6-exterior access point, is launching with TP-Link’s Omada EAP670 (a ceiling-mounted AX5400 Wi-Fi 6, access point with 160MHz channels and improved data throughput).

The Omada Access Points have advanced features that offer peak performance, including seamless roaming, band steering, and airtime fairness. The units are priced below $150 and target small and medium-sized businesses that Netgear currently serves with its WAX access points.

Omada’s new Omada EAP670 is built upon TP-Link’s Wi-Fi 6 ceiling mount access point with a 160MHz channel that provides double the data rate at peak transmission than standard Wi-Fi 6 access points. This channel has a 160MHz bandwidth, providing twice the data at peak transmission than the 80MHz rate. The EAP670 offers simultaneous speeds of 574Mbps on 2.4GHz, and 4,804Mbps at 5GHz for a total Wi Fi speed of 5,378Mbps.

The EAP670’s 2.5G port is ideal for adding to multi-gigabit networks and unlocks Wi-Fi 6’s full speed potential. PoE (802.3at) can power the unit over Ethernet. This makes it possible to install the unit in areas where there is no power outlet. TP-Link also includes a 12V DC adapter for those who don’t use PoE.

Omada EAP610 Outdoor is a new wireless access point that’s weatherproofed to IP67. It is capable of withstanding temperatures ranging from -22 to 158 degrees F and protected against 6KV lightning protection. The EAP610-Outdoor’s protective ratings allow it to be used almost anywhere outdoors, making it ideal for outdoor sports clubs, open-air swimming pools, and outdoor restaurants.

The EAP610 Outdoor offers Wi-Fi 6 speeds of 1.8 Gbps and long-range transmissions up to 800 feet. The EAP610-Outdoor features a dual-antenna design, high-power amplifier, and enhanced security features to protect user networks. The EAP610-Outdoor is powered by 48V/0.5A passive PoE (PoE adapter provided) or 802.3af poE. It has a simple mounting system that makes deployment easy. The EAP610-Outdoor’s mesh technology allows for complete coverage in large outdoor areas. Simply add additional units to get the full coverage.

Omada’s Software-Defined Networking platform (SDN), integrates network devices, including switches and access points. This provides a central place to manage the entire network from the cloud. Omada from TP-Link allows you to create a highly scalable network using a single interface. The system can be used in a variety of business settings, including hospitality, education, retail, offices, and many other areas.

Prices & Availability: Available from mid-June 2022, the EAP610-Outdoor will be priced at $129.99. The EAP670 will be available starting May 16, 2022 at 149.99. Amazon will sell both access points.
